sbskeeper asked:

Is it normal for buildings will old electricity to wear down the batteries of computers? My college dorm has electricity from the 70s and I have a friend who swears that the electricity burns out her cell phone chargers. I’ve had a HP laptop for a year and a half that lately will not hold a charge.
(sorry… Is it normal for buildings with old electric wiring to wear down the batteries of computers?)

Steve asked:

magnetic fields can destroy the hard drive on a computer or any other electronic device. We all know that an MRI machine has a very BIG magnetic field, so how does it not destroy all of the computers in the room? My class is wondering this, so 10 points to the best answer!
