    The primary difference between the two is in wireless functionality. The Centrino processor has a mobile intel chipset for wireless connectivity. Pentium has a mobile chip too, but it’s more low end. Centrino is high end and will offer you a better connection.

    Both are good and either one will give you a great experience. However, if you plan to use it for a wireless connection, then go with the Centrino. Even if you don’t plan to go wireless now, still get the Centrino. You may decide to do it later.

    Pentium is not one processor but a family of processors. Centrino is a platform that is a combination of motherboard, processor and networking card. To compare individual processors, you can either go to the Intel website or use a better tool here
